How attendance percentage is calculated
The formula
Attendance percentage = (Classes Attended ÷ Total Classes Held) × 100. It's a simple ratio, but the number that matters isn't just where you stand today — it's whether you can still hit your required percentage by the end of the term.
Most Indian colleges, universities, and CBSE-affiliated schools set that requirement at 75%, since it's the threshold used for exam eligibility (condonation) at most institutions — though some allow lower thresholds with approval, so always confirm your institution's exact policy.
How the "classes you can miss" number is calculated
If you tell the calculator how many classes remain in your term, it works out the maximum number of those you can skip while still finishing at or above your target percentage — accounting for the classes still to come, not just the ones already held.
If you're already below your target, it instead calculates how many classes in a row you'd need to attend without missing any to climb back up to your required percentage.
