Ganapathy College of Education, Paramakudi

Ganapathy College of Education, established in the academic year 2006-2007, is a recognised affiliated college situated at Paramakudi, Thirpkuchi-al-al – al in Tamil Nadu, India. This is a coeducational college, recognised by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), and offers only teacher education programmes.

Located on a 5-acre land, the college at present has 118 students aggregated enrollment and 16 faculty members. Ganapathy College of Education offers two full-time degree programmes: University teaching programmes include the four-year Bachelor of Education (B. Ed) and the two-year Diploma in Education (D. Ed) for one hundred students each.

Ganapathy College of Education's academic offerings are focused on teacher education, with two primary courses: There is the Bachelor of Education (B. Ed) and the Diploma in Education (D. Ed) . Each of these programmes is a full-time study and takes two years to complete. The college has an overall load of 200 on these two courses, with 50 for B. Ed. and another 50 for D. Ed.

These are crafted with the intent of preparing individuals who wish to be teachers with the necessary both theoretical and practical information and skills that they would require in their teaching practice. It is centralised and is based on merit and has the approval of the state government, UT Administration, and the university to which Ganapathy College of Education is affiliated.

Regarding the degree and course of eligibility, admission to the B. Ed programme depends either on merit of the qualifying examination or on an entrance test, if conducted. Likewise, the admission criteria for the D. Ed programme require the marks obtained in the qualifying examination and/or the entrance test.
