Geeta Co Education Teachers Training College, Sri Ganganagar

Geeta Co-Education Teachers Training College was established in the year 2006 in Sri Ganganagar of Rajasthan state. This affiliated college located on a campus of 5000 square meters is meant for teacher training. Approved by the National Council for Teacher Education, New Delhi and NAAC accredited, it provides an active set of teaching programmes.

The institute has total number of students more than six hundred ninety four and faculty strength of forty eight. Providing 4 courses in 2 different programmes, GCETTC aims at providing the B. Ed, D. El. Ed, as well as interdisciplinary B. A. B. Ed and B. Sc. B. Ed degrees for prospective teachers in different disciplines.

Geeta Co-Education Teachers Training College understand the need to establish a good learning environment and thus seek to avail several facilities for use by the college. Its library which it uses as a resource centre contains many text books, references and periodicals which are greatly used by the students.

Among the services, the fully computerised library includes reference consultation services, photocopy services and student’s book bank services. Infrastructural facilities such as computer classroom with projection facilities and a multimedia laboratory exist in the college. Almost every class uses instructional technology platforms and tends to improve the learning process.

To assure practical knowledge, the institute has functional science laboratories for Physics, Chemist and Zoology respectively, accompanied by plantations in a botanical garden. The college also has concern for the physical fitness with a provision of gym and sporting equipment’s for the student. Geeta Co-Education Teachers Training College teaches a total of four full time courses in teacher education.

These are the 200 seat B. Ed programme , the B. A B. Ed and B. Sc B. Ed programmes which both take fifty students and finally the D. El. Ed programme which also takes fifty students. Ed 50 Admissions at Geeta Co-Education Teachers Training College are done on merit, as per the marks scored in qualifying exam or entrance exams. In case of B. Ed programme, admission for candidates are given in the university as per norms of state government and university for taking the candidate’s performance in the qualifying examination or entrance test.
