HIP offers specialised courses in pharmacy. The admission process that the institute follows is completely merit-based; thus, only eligible candidates can avail seats in the programme. HIP has received approval from the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), thereby ensuring that the quality of education is provided.
Hip was admitted through West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination, which itself is a state-level entrance examination.
