The admission procedure in JSS Sanskrit College aims to select students who display a keen interest and ability in Sanskrit studies. While the selection procedure is formalised by the college, it is student-demand-based. That means students who show readiness to understand Sanskrit literature and traditional Indian knowledge systems are considered by JSS Sanskrit College.

Academic performance in previous studies is considered as well, but with more importance given to Sanskrit or related subjects. Prospective students for JSS Sanskrit College should prepare themselves for a comprehensive assessment of their Sanskrit knowledge and skills. This might include assessments of their understanding of Sanskrit grammar, literature, and classical texts.
