Located at Sajurmore, Dafahat, Suti, West Bengal, the AM Teachers Training Institute, Murshidabad, was established in the year 2013. The institution is an affiliated college and offers only one course in teacher education.
The college is recognised by the National Council for Teacher Education, a statutory body of the Indian government set up under the National Council for Teacher Education Act, 1993, in October 1995. Currently this compact campus of 1. 7 acres has a total student enrolment of 399, with a faculty strength of 24 members. It has a plethora of facilities to offer its students better learning.
It also houses a much-needed resource centre in the form of a library with 4,050 books and ample reading room accommodation for 100 students. The college also has sports facilities and a gym for the physical fitness of the students. It consists of fully equipped modern IT infrastructures and laboratories to aid practical experience on the campus.
A cafeteria, parking space, a health centre by first-aid facilities, and an auditorium for events and seminar facilities would also be available to students. The institute also has facilities for boys as well as girls hostels to make students coming from far-off places comfortable in staying. There are two major courses offered by the A. M. Teachers Training Institute, viz. D. El. Ed and B. Ed.
Both are regular courses of two years' duration. It is in this way that these courses would strive to teach at the elementary and secondary levels. Their curriculum is crafted in a manner to instil theoretical knowledge along with practical teaching experience in order to enable them to become educationists who are all-round.
