This affiliated college of Gadag which is named Anjuman-e-Islam Polytechnic was established in the year 1983. It is one of the AICTE approved institute providing diploma courses in the field of engineering. Sited on a 19 hectare compound, this polytechnic has a total student enrolment of 579 and has 34 members of faculty.
Currently, the institute offers six diploma courses under one degree programme and major in different engineering disciplines. The polytechnic provides a good number of tutorial aids to ensure improvement of the calibre of students. The college has well established laboratory facilities for the practical session in addition to well ventilated classroom sessions.
Consequently, a good library is functional for students and members of the faculty as a center for learning. Over all development of students is given importance in the institute with NSS and sports facilities and gymnasium for physical fitness being available. Since the students are expected to commute from various parts of the country, the college has own hostel facilities for both boys and girls.
The campus also has a cafeteria to meet the culinary needs of the college and its inhabitants. At present, Anjuman-e-Islam Polytechnic is aware of offering six full time diploma courses- Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science and Engineering and many others. All of them are carried out over a period of three years.
These courses are offered for almost every branch of engineering ensuring that students have a variety of choices to make from.
