This affiliated college which is located in an 8 acre campus has 18 courses spread across 8 degree programmes. At present, AWC has a population of 1, 566 students and this institution is staffed with 85 faculty members.
The college has an ideal ratio of students to teachers, thereby making it possible to accord each learner individual attention. Being a pioneer institution, it offers specialisations in the field of higher education in disciplines such as Commerce, Science, Arts & Management and is accredited by the NAAC. AWC boasts of their ultra-modern amenities that the students can use for their learning process.
The library, a learning resource centre, has a collection of encyclopedia, journals, and magazines which total 11,211 books, 32 periodicals, e-books and also internet resources. Physics, Electronics computer science, Psychology and Chemistry laboratories have been designed to facilitate appropriate learning experiences. A canteen is also established as a socialising area.
The college also provides a space for organising numerous events and seminars which is the auditorium. The college also has hostels for out-station students. All the teaching and learning spaces have wireless connectivity backed by strong IT infrastructure necessary for learning activities. AWC provides an opportunity to choose a wide list of courses that meet practically any interest in a topic.

AWC offers admission to many undergraduate and post graduate courses with specific eligibility requirements depending on the course undertaken. The college is also keen on the performance of the candidate in the qualifying examinations as part of academic credential. AWC has a diverse population as only 1% of the undergraduate students are from out of the state and therefore, cultural diversity is given importance.
