Atal Bihari Vajpayee Government Institute of Engineering and Technology (ABVGIET) was set up in the year 2011 is located in Pragatinagar, Distt Bilaspur Himachal Pradesh. This is a government aided college affiliated with GTU and approved by AICTE with separate faculties offering several engineering courses spread across a campus of 76. 49 Acer.

ABVGIET has a total student enrolment of 653 and a faculty strength is 28. It offers 10 courses present in 2 programmes, B. Tech and Diploma programmes in engineering branches like Computer Science, Electronics and Communication, Mechanical, Civil, and Electrical. ABVGIET aims at giving quality education to students with an affordable cost of obtaining education. The campus is well built with laboratory facilities.

In terms of technology, the school has 6 computerised Internet enabled laboratories. The institute has its library in addition to textbooks, reference books, journals, etc. , that are frequently used by students and faculty members.
