Barak Valley Engineering College, Karimganj (BVEC) is a relatively new college, which has only begun its activities in 2017 for the pursuit of qualitative technical education in the much-needed sector in the valley region of Assam. The co-educational campus of the college spreads over an area of 19. 83 acres at Nirala, Karimganj district.

BVEC is an AICTE-approved affiliated college that conducts four undergraduate programmes in B. Es. The college takes an overall enrolment of 175 students and keeps a faculty strength of 1 to ensure it gives enough attention towards its students. This provides the best infrastructure for academic growth and innovation.

Barak Valley Engineering College boasts of very good, well-designed facilities for better learning experiences for the students. Separate hostel facilities are available for boys and girls. The hostels can accommodate 80 boarders in each case. The hostel rooms, corridors, and bathrooms are illuminated by solar lights.

Rooms are spacious and comfortable with two beds in each for two students, hygienic kitchen, full-capacity dining hall, common rooms for co-curricular activities, sick rooms, and even specially designed rooms for the disabled students. There are libraries, canteens, state-of-the-art laboratories, the latest IT infrastructure, and so on within the campus.

To provide facilities to students for their physical well being, BVEC has provided sports facility and a gym. Guest rooms have been designed to ensure that the staying arrangement is comfortable for the visiting faculty and family members of students. Barak Valley Engineering College offers four full-time BE programmes of four years' duration of each type.

They are Civil Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. There is cleared admission of 60 students to every course, which adds up the number of available seats in all the programmes to 240.

With these engineering disciplines, the students will have the ability to make a choice of their area of interest toward the field they would like to pursue after graduation.
