Bhagwati Institute of Professional Studies, Gwalior

The Bhagwati Institute of Professional Studies was set up in the year 2009 and is one of the premier institutions at Gwalior in the state of Madhya Pradesh. Located on By-pass Road, Village Khureri, Morar, this institute is co-educational, training future teachers. After its affiliation with this university, it has been able to attain recognition of quality in the delivery of teacher training.

It is recognised by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) to ensure compliance with national norms in teacher education. It admitted a total of 368 students and a faculty strength of 33; as such, it offers the best environment for the students who want to become teachers. The degrees are awarded by Jiwaji University , Gwalior.

The institute is home to several features that aim to improve students’ learning experience. A football playground with decent furniture provides volleyball, basketball, badminton, and cricket courts for indoor and outdoor games with a trained physical instructor.

The large hall is used as a meeting hall for morning assemblies that include sessions of meditation, yoga and other exercises, and prayers and patriotic activities. The library, being a central point of addressing academic needs, has compiled a collection of more than 7111 books on sundry disciplines, accompanied by periodicals, newspapers and magazines.

As for the class sizes, it is designed to contain up to 50 students at a time and can serve as a library for group studies. The institute also has well-developed laboratory facilities, such as a Computer laboratory with 22 computers connected through LAN and an Internet facility.

For any student who wishes to be accommodated, the institute has separate hostels for boys and girls to ensure that they get proper hostels to live in, with proper conduct being supervised by wardens. From the perspective of teacher education programmes, Bhagwati Institute of Professional Studies teaches a relatively constrained domain.

The institute currently provides three full-time courses : Bachelor's and degree courses, including Bachelor's in Education (B. Ed ), Master's in Education (M. Ed) and Diploma in Elementary Education (D. El. Ed). In the college, the B. Ed programme admission has the highest capacity, 100, then the M. Ed programme admitted 50 students, and the D. El. Ed has only 550-intakeke capacity.
