Christ College of Physical Education, Irinjalakuda

Christ College of Physical Education, Irinjalakuda is a leading physical education college, was started in the year 2011 in Kerala state of India. This affiliated college, NCTE-approved, is situated on a 10-acre campus to provide a concentrated programme in Physical Education. Currently with 46 students and 5 faculty, this environment nurtures students personally and academically.

At present, it has only one professional course which is Bachelor of Physical Education (B. P. Ed), therefore the mission of the institution is to produce quality physical educators and sports personnel. The college has well-developed amenities targeted at accommodating the needs of a student in all aspects.

The well-sponsored gymnasium is ideal for exercise freaks, though the proficient sports facilities offer adequate chances for practice sessions and intercollegiate tournaments. The college library is also provided as a knowledge centre for all academic-related purposes. It also provides comfortably well-furnished hostels for both male and female students to maximize their study and personal development.

The campus also comprises technologically enhanced laboratories, a hall for conducting special occasions and seminars, and a canteen that is an essential platform for students’ and staff's free time. Closeness towards health and safety considerations is exhibited in that; the college offers on-campus health services which include first aid departments.

In line with respondents for easing, this college has commendable IT facilities that enhance the students ‘connectivity and availability of technology. Christ College of Physical Education also has an approved intake of 100 students in the B. P. Ed programme. This is a two-year full course-based education designed to impart every knowledge and skill required in the field of physical education.

The element of practical training along with theoretical knowledge gives students the necessary knowledge to work in schools, sports academies and fitness centers.

At the moment, this college offers only one-degree programme , however, because of the college’s orientation on this field, students can gain profound theoretical knowledge and practical experience in different spheres of physical education and sports science.

Ed is given to students based on merit. Potential students are assessed depending on their results in an entrance test, non-academic ability test, and interview.
