College of Engineering, Trivandrum

The College of Engineering Trivandrum established on 3rd July 1939 during the reign of Sri Chithira Thirunal Balarama Varma, is the first engineering college in the erstwhile Travancore State. Initially functioning from the Chief Engineer's bungalow (now PMG Office) with Maj T. H. Mathewman as its first Principal, the CET Trivandrum began with 21 students each in Civil, Mechanical, and Electrical disciplines.

It came under the Government of Kerala in the late 1950s with the formation of the Directorate of Technical Education and shifted to its present 125-acre campus in 1960. College of Engineering Trivandrum secured the 15th position under the architecture category in the NIRF 2025 ranking.

CET Trivandrum is accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).
