College of Fishery Sciences, Nagpur

The constituent College, College of Fishery Sciences, Nagpur was established in 2006 aims to provide fisheries education at Under Graduate level in Maharashtra state, India. Currently situated at Hajari Pahad, Nagpur, this particular institution functions under the authorisation given by the ICAR – Indian Council for Agricultural Research.

At present the college has a faculty of 10 members allowing the student teachers ratio to be optimal and therefore the quality of education imparted is quite good. College of Fishery Sciences, Nagpur is affiliated with the college Maharashtra Animal and Fishery Sciences University, Nagpur.

One of the universities has established two broad programmes on fishery sciences covering under graduate and post graduate studies. Studens welfare is of paramount important hence there is a health centre in campus where first aid is offered.

Also equipped is a girls’ hostel to ensure students particularly female students who may be coming from distant places have a safe place to stay. Currently it has two full-time degree courses to meet the fishery education at different levels of education. ” B. F. Sc is an undergraduate programme of four years and M. F. Sc is a post graduate two years programme.

These programmes are meant to offer encyclopaedic information, as well as hands-on expertise in one or multiple aspects of the fishery work.
