Devaki Amma Memorial Teacher Education College, Chelambra

Devaki Amma Memorial Teacher Education College situated at Chelembra, was started in the year 2001, is an affiliated college situated in Malappuram District of Kerala. This co-educational institution recognised by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) offers teacher education programs alone.

The college is located on a single one point one acre plot and provides three full time courses having a collective student strength of one ninety seven. It has a team of sixteen faculty members, thus assuring a proper ratio of people to teach in the institute. As a Teachers’ training institution, the college offers B. ED, M. ED, and D. EL. ED programmes tailored to various potential teachers.

Devaki Amma Memorial Teacher Education College possesses several facilities for the accomplishment of its educational goals. A well-stocked library is a major knowledge resource centre where a wide range of national as well as international books categorised according to the subjects taught are displayed.

The Computer laboratory includes more than 25 computers equipped with essential software and accessories, and will allow students learning with the actual utilisation of technology in education. An ETNL language lab provides a means of improving language learning experiences. To support student welfare, this college has managed to have a health centre with first aid services.

A girls hostel within the institution compound with an efficient warden guarantees proper care and protection of female students. The college also contains an auditorium for special occasions and seminars, departmental laboratories, playing fields, and staff and student cafeteria.

Ed is solely on merits of marks obtained in the qualifying examination, entrance test, or any other mode as per the norms of State Government/University concerned. Like other courses, admission in D. El. Ed are also merit based, where scores in the qualifying examination or entrance test or any other criteria as defined by the state government or university.
