Dr MGR Fisheries College and Research Institute, Thalainayar

Dr. M. G. R Fisheries college & Research Institute affiliated with Thalainayar was set up in the year 2017 in Nagapattinam of Tamil Nadu. This institution is especially involved in the training and production of fisheries professionals, making education in this area of interest to the students. Located on 40-acre land, the college has ample environment to both theoretical and practical learning.

This tie the total enrolment stands at 90 students and the faculty strength of 20 faculty members which helps the institute in offering personalised care and best education to all its student. Dr. M. G. R Fisheries college & Research Institute has modern facilities to meet the needs of students in academic as well as co-curricular and extra-curricular activities.

College library is the knowledge centre and students have an access to a plethora of literature in fisheries and related courses. Sufficient laboratory facilities provide opportunities for practical performance, which gives theoretical knowledge in practice. Indeed, sports is also accorded most importance within the college for this purpose every student gets the sporting amenities.

Realising the need of students to live on-campus, the institute offers different hostels for boys as well as for girls so that students can have comfortable and convenient stay. Dr. MGR Fisheries College and Research Institute at present offers only one course, which is Undergraduate course known as Bachelor of Fishery Science .

An overview of the fields of fisheries research is developed through this curriculum, which takes four years to complete. The admission for Dr. MGR Fisheries College and Research Institute will follow the guidelines to admit eligible and passionate students for its B. F. Sc programme.
