Dr Mohan's Diabetes Education Academy, Chennai

The Dr Mohan’s Diabetes Education Academy was founded in the year 2008 and is a speciality institution based in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. This affiliated college is committed to delivering postgraduate education in diabetes care and other related disorders.

Located on one acre of land in Gopalapuram, the academy currently provides five different programmes leading to three degrees and specialising in diabetology, eye disorders due to diabetes and medical lab technology. Dr. Mohan’s Diabetes Education Academy has in place special accommodation to improve the regime of learning of the students.

A modern library is a must for any institution of learning because it offers the latest research and information in the area of interest, which in this case is diabetes. The laboratories provided by the institution afford practical exposure, which is paramount to the skills demanded for progressive diagnosis, management and investigation of the complications of diabetes.

For the purpose of the comprehensive growth of the academy’s students, there is a gymnasium with appropriate equipment. It also has a campus facility for holding academic seminars, events, etc. , to further encourage thought-provoking arguments. In all, Dr Mohan’s Diabetes Education Academy has offered four courses whereby all its courses are full-time.

Others are Post Doctoral Fellowship in Diabetology , Fellowship in Diabetology, Fellowship in Eye Disorder of Diabetes, and B. Sc. in Medical laboratory technology. These courses take between one and three years to complete depending on the degree of specialisation and the nature of the opportunities and goals a student has in the area of diabetes care and research.
