Durgapur Institute of Advanced Technology and Management was established in 2002. It is one of the best institutions in Durgapur. Tech Electronics and Communication Engineering - - The admission procedure at DIATM is mainly based on merit. The approved intake for B. Tech programs is filled through the rank in the state's JEE. However, some seats can be up to 10% of the approved intake capacity, based on the rank in JEE Main .

The institute also has provisions for lateral entry admissions through the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination for Lateral Entry (JELET) for diploma holders in engineering. DIATM considers various entrance exams that include JEE Main and WBJEE among others.
