Education College, Murshidabad was established in 2007, and the said institution remained as one of the known teacher-training institutions of Basantapur, West Bengal. It is a co-ed college affiliated to WBUTTEPA, West Bengal University of Teachers' Training, Education Planning and Administration, approved by NCTE.

The college offers two specialised courses in education on a small campus of 1 acres, with a enrolment of students of 368 and a faculty strength of 32 dedicated educators. All modern facilities are available to enrich the learning process of the students. It also has a well-equipped library that acts as an information centre.

In the information centre, there is stock of books, journals, e-journals, and audio-visuals in large numbers. Besides, Education College is well-furnished with state-of-the-art laboratories that are much more than the standards prescribed by NCTE and provide students' practical exposure in various aspects of education.

Besides, it has comfortable hostels separately for boys and girls that are congenial to the academic atmosphere. Other facilities include a gymnasium, sports facilities, an auditorium for events and seminars, and a health centre with first-aid facilities.
