Food Craft Institute is located on the Campus of the renowned Aligarh Muslim University (AMU). The Institute was set up under the aegis of the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, in 1984, as an autonomous institute and is governed by an executive body that consists of the representatives of the Central Government, State Government, and Aligarh Muslim University .
