GIGA is dedicated to being an institute teaching animation, VFX and game design located in Chennai with specialization in line with fast growing industries. GIGA is situated at Chennai Tamil Nadu, which has established itself in becoming an educational institution providing courses that can fulfill the ever increasing needs of creative and technological sectors of game & animation industries.

In this respect, there is a number of facilities in GIGA that promote the effective learning of students. The college has a small library that retains over 200 animate films, short films, features, and live-action movies which is very useful to install animators and game designers.

This is particualrly true with regard to laboratories of the institute The Laboratories are electronically equipped and powered with air conditioned wide PC systems and modern computers with high computer graphic cards apart from other power of software industries. The design of the classrooms at GIGA provides 20-30 students per class space and all the classes have digital projectors. This college also provides a very good management in IT since students need the technology support in their tasks.

GIGA has a complete list of courses that intensively covers all the necessary topics associated with animation and gaming.

The institute offers 8 courses over 4 general degree programs at under and post graduate levels of standard. These full-time programs are Bachelor of Science (B. Sc) in Animation and VFX and Animation and Game Design , and Master of Science (M. Sc) in Animation and VFX and Animation and Game .

For learners who wish to take shorter focused programs, GIGA has diploma programs; in 3D Animation and VFX, and 3D Animation, Game Design and Development . Besides, the institute offers Postgraduate Diploma in 3D Animation and Visual Effects and in 3D Animation, Game Design and Development. Such values enable student choices to be made depending on their required destination in the fields of animation and or gaming.

The general procedure that is implemented at GIGA in regard to admissions differs from one program to the other. The UG courses such as B. Sc in Animation and VFX or Animation and Game Design come under BFA – Bachelor of Fine Arts – and have a merit base or test/viva voce for admission.

Final year BFA students are also considered for admission, provided they have appeared for their end examinations though they may still be awaiting their results, and are therefore given provisional admission into the institute.
