Government College, Daman came into existence in 1966 located in Daman, a union territory of Daman and Diu of India. This affiliated college, which has 27 acres a land area, has been in existence for more than fifty years catering educational needs of the people. It is an NAAC accredited college that provides a wide spectrum of the undergraduate and postgraduate courses.

Government College at Daman has a significant number of students enrolled of 1,129 and faculty consists of 39 members that contribute overall growth of students and help them to groom. The institution delivers 10 courses under 6 degree programs fully designed to fit the different specializations and career goals.

The college has developed numerous resources meant to improve learning environment and all around student experience. Only in the International standard, Swami Vivekananda auditorium has installed in Campus to organize several essential programs all around the year. For the post graduate level the college provides Master of Arts (MA) in English and Economics , Master of Science (M. Sc) in Mathematics, Chemistry , Botany and Zoology and Master of Commerce (M. Com) .

All these programmes are full-time courses, and therefore provide the student with an opportunity to learn intensively and get thoroughly involved in academic work. The approved intake for all the courses offered is 690 students as the college retains a good student to teacher ratio for the enhanced delivery of education.
