The Government College of Engineering, Srirangam, Trichy also known as GCES Srirangam, was started in the year 2013. This affiliated college approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICT) was present the number of engineering courses. GCES Srirangam is spread over a forty-nine thousand two hundred and ninety-one square meter area; the total student enrolment is 1,014 and the faculty strength is 63.
The college offers five undergraduate engineering courses with all being full time Bachelor of Engineering (BE) specialisation in Civil, Electrical and Electronics, Electronics and Communication, Mechanical and Computer Science. Government College of Engineering offers a comprehensive learning environment for the students.
The college provides multiplicity of amenities for students’ learning as well as individual development. These are include: Providing of separate hostels for the boys and girls to ensure adequate accomodation for students from different part of the country.
An adequately stocked library provides knowledge, and modern laboratory facilities efficiently complements the theoretical and practical aspects in all departments. On the same note, the college also takes the health of students by having a medical facility for first aide.

The institute currently teaches a total of five full time BE courses which take four years each to complete- Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering & Computer science and engineering etc..

The overall capacity for all courses approved is 300 and for each programme is 60.
