Government College of Pharmacy, one of the oldest colleges in Karnataka , was established in the year 1964, is the oldest government pharmacy institution in Karnataka. GCP Bengaluru was approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI).
GCP Bengaluru offers programmes in 3 levels of education, which includes diploma, undergraduate, and postgraduate pharmacy programmes. GCP Bengaluru offers a two-year full-time DPharm with 60 seats, a four-year BPharm programme with 60 seats, and a two-year Master of Pharmacy MPharm with specialisations in Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmacology, and Pharmacognosy, accommodating 54 seats.
The college is affiliated with Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) . The admissions to DPharm and BPharm are based on merit of qualifying examinations, while MPharm admissions require norms regulated by PCI and Karnataka board.
