Government Degree College Khumulwng popularly known as (GDCK) a Government affiliated college were established in the year 2007 at Jirania,mahiaram,Tripura. This NAAC accredited institution provides various undergraduate programs on 8. 56 acres of land. GDCK has total enrolment capacity of 1202 students and faculty 28 that helps overall enhancement of higher learning.

There are 8 courses provided in 2 degrees, The college focuses on Arts and its diverse areas. Out of, the students are 638 male and 361 female students, which indicates a core belief of the university as an inclusive learning community. The school has many facilities which are fancy and enable the delivery of quality education to the students of GDCK.

The college library is an open-access library that contains the Acces to 7168 books ranging from subjects such as Bengali, Education, English, History, and Political Science. With the sport lovers’ needs in mind, the campus comes with volleyball and badminton playing fields and indoor games like carom and chess.

The college also possesses subject wise laboratories and proper IT facility and has proper provision of computer for students for practical classes and project works. The institution currently provides a total of 8 undergraduate programmes and all these are full time programmes.

This brought out new BA majors in Bengali , English, History, Political Science , Education, Hindi and Philosophy as well as a general BA programme . The overall credited capacity for these courses is 810 though individual course capacities sit at 60 – 150. All these programs are offered in order to address a wide range of academic focus and future occupations.
