Government Degree College, Nainbagh was eshtablished in the year 2001 by the Government of Uttarakhand and it is located at Nanibagh, a beautiful place. Government Degree College, Nainbagh is affiliated with the college Sri Dev Suman Uttarakhand University, Tehri.

This college is situated in the picturesque hilly town of Nainbagh which is at the intersection point of the tehsil/blocks/districts; Tehri, Uttarkashi, and Dehradun and the altitude here is about 650 meters, so it is catering to the students from the nearby rural areas within 40 km radius. Government Degree College, Nainbagh, offers the Bachelor of Arts (B. A.

) programme, a three-year course covering a wide range of disciplines in the humanities and social sciences. The college dept. offers a Bachelor of Arts three years degree courses with the subjects such as Hindi, Political Science, Sociology, History, Geography, English, and Economics. The distribution of seats is included 120 seats for the subjects i. e.

Hindi, Political Science, Sociology, and History and 60 seats for Geography, Economics, and English. The building of the college was constructed on the land that was donated by the local people and from the session 2017-18, a new campus building has been in use. It also has smart classrooms under the RUSA program for supporting the modern teaching methodology.

Among the facilities at the institution, there are a library, laboratories, , WiFi, and some other amenities that are necessary for teaching and co-curricular activities.

The college encourages the implementation of holistic education as per the National Education Policy 2020 which is the most leading method of imparting education which emphasizes the incorporation of vocational and value-added courses along with community outreach programs for the overall development of students.
