This college is one of the new generation colleges which was established in 2019 in the jurisdiction of Jammu and Kashmir, India and is formally known as Government Degree College Ramgarh Samba. This is a co-educational college which affords college education to learners in the Samba district falling under the college’s affiliation.

Thus, the college enrolment a total of 35 students in a year and there are 8 faculties in the college which makes an optimised learning ratio. Government Degree College, Ramgarh is an affiliated college of University of Jammu, Jammu. The college has a number of facilities that are aimed at improving the learning facility for the students.

The library exists as the learning resource centre and these contain relevant and relevant learning resources that accord with the mission and courses offered at the institution. The computer laboratory contains up to date Information Technology equipment that is useful in imparting computer literacy and executing projects that embrace the use of technology. For student’s and staff’s health requirements, the college still has provision of first aid but for other emergency cases; the college has made arrangement with Government Community Health Centre Ramgarh.

Government Degree College, Ramgarh, Samba currently offers one full-time course: a Bachelor of arts ( BA ) programme. This is a three-year course that offers the student a traditional liberal arts education.
