GFGCK is an embodied Government First Grade College located in Hanumantha Pura, Koratagere, Karnataka. It is a coeducational college that was started in 1985 and has been preparing young people for nearly forty years. GFGCK is a small college spread over an area of 2. 5 acres and has a student strength of 960; however, it provides a wide course portfolio for its learners.
College has a 20 membered and committed faculty which makes the education more committed and personalised. The GFGCK college is recognised by NAAC also an affiliated college and aims at delivering quality education in order to fulfil its mission. For the technologically-inclined students, the college offers a well stocked computer laboratory with 25 PC’s and internet connection. Science lovers get nice and well-equipped labs that contain most sophisticated scientific instruments like telescope, CRO, GM counter and spectrum analyser for practical use. GFGCK currently provides a total of 10 courses within 5 degree programmes , ensuring there is a programme for any academic major.
The programmes provide under graduate and post graduate options with all the programmes offered in the full time mode only. The college has diverse field concentration focusing in arts, commerce, science and management. These some of the popular courses which are common among the people are B. Com , BBA, B. Sc in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics and M. A in Economics .
In addition, the college teaches different and selective BA programmes that combine history, economics & journalism , and other fields including sociology, political science, Kannada, English. That way, the already diverse course offering guarantees the student sufficient avenues to engage his or her desires and goals academically.
