Government Medical College, Jagtial (GMC Jagtial) is medical college hospital was started recently in the year 2022. This affiliated college is established in Dharur Camp, Jagtial, Telangana and is recognised from National Medical Commission (NMC). The GMC Jagtial is one of the government-aided colleges with a mission to impart best medical education to medical aspirants who wants to be a doctor.

The college at the moment only has one degree programme, MBBS which has an approved student capacity of 150 students. The faculty includes forty-five members of staff; the establishment of a small class size consequently eliminates unmanageable student-to-teacher ratio. Government Medical College Jagtial has provided the best and relevant infrastructures that play a major role in shaping the future of its students.

College library bearing medical literature and research –contains a variety of information that students can access. For various activities, whether extracurricular or college related events, an auditorium is on the compound. Physical activities in sporting facilities produces physical wellbeing amongst learners and fosters teamwork.

The college cafeteria provide a venue for students and members of staff to take breaks as well as feed. In order fulfill the modern educational needs, GMC Jagtial has focused on developing good IT facilities. The college also has well equipped practical laboratory where students can gain practical experience.

Also, when a college has functional first aid facilities in a health center, students’ health on that campus is guaranteed. MBBS at Government Medical College, Jagtial is a six years programme taught through full-time mode. This broad plan is aimed to develop proficient healthcare workers who will facilitate promotion of health and continued learning and practice of medicine as an art and science.

This college has a compact curriculum, based on the theoretical knowledge and also the practical experience that the nurses will meet in the medical field. Occupying 150 students at a time, GMC Jagtial has a noble role to play towards bringing up doctors in the state and catering for the needful in different fields of specialisation.

The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) admissions are considered for entry into the MBBS programme at Government Medical College, Jagtial Dean. This is a national level test and compulsory for all students who wish to be admitted in any medical college in India. The college has provision for admissions as prescribed by the National Medical Commission and the state government.

NEET is mandatory, and the applicant must attend the counselling process to be admitted to GMC Jagtial. The policy of the college to give admission to deserving candidates only ensures that everyone who has a dream to be a doctor is captured.
