Government Medical College, Tirupur

Government Medical College, Tirupur which was set in 2021 is also among the new establishment in Tamil Nadu medical colleges. This co-educational institution is an affiliated college of the Tiruppur University situated at 18/1, Dharapuram Main Road, Velliangadu, Tiruppur and is approved by National Medical Commission (NMC).

The college is yet young but that is why it wants to be a provider of quality medical education that will help to build the healthcare industry in the given area. It is so fortunate that more and more colleges provide a variety of services for the students to help them in their college life. The library also doubles as a source of medical information which is important in the production of better doctors.

Government Medical College has a great IT facility and students have regular access to the various modern technologies and information system in the medical field. Departmental laboratories afford the necessary flexibility for developing practical skills which are so necessary in the didactic of medical sciences.

To enhance the satisfaction of faculty, staff and students the college has also arranged good numbers of parking space in the college campus. As of now, the Government Medical College, Tirupur, has but one major course – the MBBS or Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery course. This is a six year full time course which gives a full medical education to any persons who wish to be doctors.

The college also has an approved intake of 100 Students for the MBBS,which is actual proof of their intention to produce a significant number of Medical Personnel in the country.

On the issue of graduates the college’s data is not yet available since it is a relatively new college, however, with its founding the institution will greatly contribute to the production of the next generation of medical specialists in the region. The admission procedure of the Government Medical College, Tirupur is in consonance with other medical colleges of India.

The college accepts what it calls the first-stage examination which is the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test ( NEET ). This exam is conducted all over the country and it is the avenue through which the first-year medical students get an opportunity to study in this institution. Aspirants are requested to follow the NEET exam schedules once for this programme and prepare themselves for the examination.
