Government Polytechnic College Bikaner was started in the year 1960 it is one of the premier technical institution in the region situated in Bikaner Rajasthan. This is a co-educational institute with diploma courses in different fields of engineering under technical board education of state. Located on a 45 acre area, this college offers admission to total 457 students out of which 36 are faculties.

This institute is affiliated to All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) which assures the quality standard of the education provided in conformity with the standard education provided in conformity to the Indian standard.

The College Established at Bikaner offers six diploma courses in technical education mainly engineering streams to fulfill the dreams of students who want to gain industry based knowledge at vocational level. Its objective is to foster a learning atmosphere within a campus that has adequate facilities which are necessary to meet the needs of learners.

The campus has modern laboratories for practical training which it lacks in diploma courses. A good library system as a información center provides technical books and journals. It is aware of the fact that modern learning cannot be complete without a touch of Information Technology thereby providing students with the best Information Technology facilities.

With regards to physical needs of students, the campus is equipped with sports grounds and a gym. The institution also has different hostels for boys and girls, thus satisfying the accommodation needs of outstation learners. Lunch is provided on the compound to meet the needs of the students and other members of staff.

Infrastructure is another crucial aspect well supported with the college having a health center complete with first aid services in case of emergentcies within the community. Government Polytechnic College, Bikaner, offers a total of six full time diploma courses, these are designed in such a way that students gain practical as well as theoretical knowledge in a different field of engineering.

The courses take a duration of three years each so that they prepare the students for employment immediately or for further learning in their specialties. In the entire course, only 270intake have been approved across all the courses, and this shows that there is a lot that the institute can offer engineers.

Despite the fact, the author was unable to find out the specific graduation data for the most recent year, the college provides practical education with major emphasis on the skills that will be required in the workplace.
