Government Polytechnic College, Cherthala, formed in the year 1994 is one of the premier technical institution situated at Alappuzha, Kerala. This affiliate college recognized by All India Council for Technical Education provides ample accredited and recognised diploma courses in various fields of engineering.

The college is a massive sized college sprawling over a five-acre land, and its total intake capacity of the students is 773, and the strength of faculties is 29. Being technical institute, it offers five diploma courses, which takes three years of full time studies. Government Polytechnic College boasts of having well equipped learning facilities in the college that can be utilized by the students. Each of the course has an approved enrolment capacity of sixty (60) students thereby giving the Polytechnic a total enrolment capacity of three hundred (300) students a year across the selected programmes.
