Government Polytechnic College, Melur

Government Polytechnic College, Melul was set up in the year 2010 at Ambalakaranparithi, Melul in Tamil Nadu. This affiliated college recognised by AICTE provides various diploma courses in different branches of Engineering. The college admits a total of 716 students and has a faculty of 4 and has adequate facilities to give a specialised differential education to the aspiring engineers.

Currently, the institution has four diploma courses through which it students an interest in engineering disciplines, and these include: The Government Polytechnic College include number of alleged facilities which can complement the education process of the college students. Each facet of the campus has functional laboratories for each department to enable practical learning.

A library resource centre provides necessary information to the students and faculty in every aspect. For any individual who loves sport and exercise, the college has provisions for sport and a gym. It also has auditorium for seminars, and events conducts to support a lively academic environment for the campus.

Efficient IT infrastructure is well emphasised, thus allowing students to be up to date with new technological trends. College canteen provides with food and menus for college community; a guest room/waiting lounge is available for temporary accommodation of guesting faculties and families of students.

At present, the Government Polytechnic College, Melur offers four different full-time diploma programmes in Mechanical , Civil etc each of three years’ duration. These programmes offer a basic set of engineering disciplines to the students Further, their major domains allow them to gain a tangible base in their selected fields.

Total student intake per course is sixty and the number of students offered all the different courses is two hundred and forty. This controlled intake is good because it ensure every enrolled student receives attention and quality education.
