The Government Polytechnic College Palakkad was started in 1980 and is one of the leading Polytechnic college in Kodumbu Palakkad – Kerala. This affiliated college for BTech and approved by AICTE, has been moulding the young engineers for the next four decades. The college has a total enrolment of 983 students and a diverse faculty of 35, where the college offers numerous diploma courses of engineering disciplines.

Government Polytechnic College Palakkad has available various resources that aid in the education process of students in college. A library with good stock is an information centre that assists students in accessing technical materials and information. The campus has equipped every department with professional and new generation laboratories to get deeper knowledge in sensible manner.

For the students that have special needs, the college provides students a boys’ and a girls’ hostel accommodation which can be comfortably said to foster the students’ study environment. Off the remaining courses, Electrical and Electronics, Electronics, Instrumentation, and Computer Hardware Engineering take 60 students each.
