Government Polytechnic for Women, Hubli (GPW Hubli) is a premier women institution in Hubli, Karnataka state which has started its journey in 1963. This affiliated college is recognised by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), which provides diploma courses in various engineering streams.
With a total strength of seven hundred and ninety-seven students and twenty-two faculty members of GPW Hubli offer technical education only for female. The institute provides 5 diploma courses in 1 stream including Civil Engineering , Computer Science Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Commercial practice, Apparel Design and Fabrication Technology.
The campus of Government Polytechnic for Women, Hubli is equipped with several new age facilities for the students to improve their academic and personal prospects. There are tunnels in the institute for the practical session where facilities of modern equipment are available.
A library provides not only the books, references, journals and e-resources necessary for student and senior’s research but also creates comfortable studying atmosphere. Regarding the aspect of physical fitness, exercise and recreation the college has both indoor and outdoor sports amenities.
The has a large capacity auditorium for academics and cultural programmes and a canteen that offers both North and South Indian food. The Government Polytechnic for Women, Hubli offers 5 diploma courses which are prescribed for 3 years duration, full time programme each. The courses offered are in line with engineering and commerce touching on various fields of practice to suit a range of careers. The institute has an overall intake capacity of 300 students affording each programme the best student strength to meet it’s course delivery objectives.
This college has admission based on merit. All students who wish to apply are expected to seek an interview so as to be considered for admission and only those with special learning needs are admitted. This institute admits the students as per the norms set as per Directorate of Technical Education, Bangalore.
