Government Polytechnic, Gopeshwar, was established in the year 2006 under affiliation to Uttarakhand Board of Technical Education, Roorkee. This institution is approved by All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi, offering diploma programs in different branches of Engineering.

The polytechnic is situated on a compact 5-acre campus with a total student enrolment of 23 and a faculty strength of 3 at present. It offers three diploma courses in Information Technology, Mechanical Engineering, and Communication and Computer Networking. Government Polytechnic, Gopeshwar seeks to excel in providing quality technical education at the heart of the beautiful Himalayas of Uttarakhand.

Government Polytechnic has a range of facilities aimed at enriching the learning experience of its students. There is a well-stocked library that functions as a knowledge hub, with help available in abundance for all kinds of academic pursuits. Government Polytechnic, Gopeshwar offers three full-time diploma courses, each with a duration of three years. The institute has a combined sanctioned intake of 90 students across its programmes— Diploma in Information Technology and Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with an intake of 30 each.
