Government Polytechnic, Lahaul and Spiti

Government Polytechnic, Lahaul and Spiti was started in the year of 2013, it is affiliated institute situated in Himachal Pradesh. This is a private technical institution recognized by the AICTE located in Mandi which presents quality education in an environment characterized by natural mountains.

Spread across a 5-acre campus, the polytechnic provides quality education to 115 students, maintaining an impressive 1:Lower than the 13:1 student to faculty ratio is its 9 faculty members at the school. At present, the institute is registered and offering only one diploma course in Civil Engineering to fit the infrastructural development demands of the area.

The polytechnic has several amenities that can improve the student outcome as well as the learning condition. An adequately stocked library for the acquisition of past, present, and future knowledge, and modern practical laboratory facilities for civil engineering education. This percent ensures that the institute boasts of an IT infrastructure and students are able to update themselves with technology.

In order to ensure students are comfortable whilst in the Hostel, the polytechnic has separate Hostels for Boys and Girls respectively. An on-campus cafeteria is designed to meet the different needs of students’ diets and unite students. The institute also has an efficient health center through which first aid services to the students are provided.

An auditorium is used for diverse events and seminars which contribute to the academic and cultural life of students and teachers. Situated in Zakhem, Government Polytechnic, Lahaul and Spiti offers Degree Diploma in Civil Engineering in order to impart better technical education.

This is a full time course that takes three years to complete and aims at producing students who will fit nicely in the growing infrastructure industry. For this program, the intake has been approved to only take 30 students in order to be able to give each student a personal touch in their education.

At the moment, polytechnic has one specific course and thus provides sufficient base for the students who have intentions to benefit the civil engineering division. Admission process is simplified and made easy for students seeking admissions in Government Polytechnic, Lahaul and Spiti.
