Govt. Rural Polytechnic, Thalnadi was established in 1987 and affiliated to run at Pauri Garhwal, Uttarakhand. This technical institution has AICTE approval and imparts various diploma courses for the enrichment of students with practical skills and knowledge. Nestled in the Himalayas, it infuses a unique learning atmosphere - a proper mix of technical education with all the serenity that rural Uttarakhand exudes.

Wherein 45 students are enrolled, and the institute is doing everything possible to have a healthy student-teacher ratio by keeping 8 faculty members in order to pay personal attention and guidance. This is an institute that boasts well-built facilities designed by keeping in mind the academics and practical background that the students will require.

A well-equipped library acts as a knowledge center with an immense array of technical literature and resources available to all students. Departments have well-equipped laboratories in order to provide the students with practical experience within their respective domains.

Laboratories are fully equipped with modern sets of equipment and tools to narrow the gap between theoretical knowledge and its practical implementation. Government Rural Polytechnic, Thalnadi offers four full-time diploma courses catering to various aspects of engineering and management. It has an intake capacity of 140 seats in its entirety for all courses.

These include: Diploma in Electrical Engineering , Diploma in Civil Environmental Engineering, Diploma in Electronics Engineering , and Diploma in Modern Office Management and Secretarial Practice. All courses will be for a duration of three years except that of Office Management, which is to be offered for two years.

Such a wide variety of courses thus enables students to opt for any one course in accordance with their interest and career ambitions. The admission to the Government Rural Polytechnic, Thalnadi is free and just. As far as admissions to the Diploma course in Electrical Engineering are concerned, these are based on the Uttarakhand Joint Entrance Examination Polytechnics that are conducted by Uttarakhand JEEP .

This Entrance Examination ensures that only worthy candidates on the basis of their aptitude and knowledge get admitted.
