One of the most prestigious institutions working towards shaping the future of education, Government Teachers Training College, Saharsa, more popularly known as GTTC Saharsa, is an affiliated college. The affiliated college was established in the year 1976 and is situated in Saharsa, Bihar. The GTTC Saharsa, spread over a compact 2. 16 acres campus, is approved by the NCTE. The college runs two regular courses, B.
Ed. and M. Ed. , with a student enrolment of 270 and 6 faculty members, ensuring a conducive and personalised learning atmosphere for the aspiring teachers. The working College Library is housed in a spacious 97. 44 sq. m hall and serves as a Knowledge Resource Centre. It has a rich collection of books, newspapers, periodicals, and journals, which enables an ideal setting for research and study.
The institution also comprises very well-equipped laboratories where the student-teachers are exposing at best to real practical life situations with regard to conducting science experiments through expert guidance. Available in the college for extra-curricular activities are outdoor and indoor sports facilities. GTTC Saharsa specialises in teacher education.
The College runs two major courses, a Bachelor of Education (B. Ed) and a Master of Education (M. Ed). Both are two-year regular programs. Ed 100 GTTC Saharsa has quite a competent admission process for its teacher education programs. In the case of the B. Ed. course, admission is made through the common entrance test itself so that the selection procedure is completely fair and competitive. While, on the other hand, the M. Ed.
program, as usual, is entirely based on merits judged from marks obtained at the qualifying examination, performance in entrance test examination, or any other selection process as per the policy prescribed by the state government/University.
