Being one of the oldest and esteemed institutions of Sanghera Punjabi University, Barnala was founded in the year 1972. This co-education affiliated college, established in 1961, located in an area of 11. 7 acres, has always been the light house of higher learning education. Recognised by the NAAC, the college provides care to a student strength of 1,290 across 6 courses in 5 degrees.

This college has 22 permanent faculties to teach all students, which have effective student-teacher ratio and guarantee better learning conditions. Sanghera Punjabi University has a well-equipped assembly of facilities that contribute towards the better learning process.

The school has a well-equipped library that consists of more than 15,826 books and a number of newspapers and journals together with these modern facility the students are fully equipped with knowledge.
