Gwalior Institute of Technology and Science (GITS) was set up in 1989 in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, and is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi Technological University, Bhopal. Established in 1982, this institute is located at Mahadji Nagar, Shivpuri Link Road, and has been working for the development of technical education.
At GITS, there are a plethora of engineering courses that are proposed to produce quality human resources in technical specialisation. Currently, the institute has a faculty strength of 28 professors, and it has the mission of producing quality human resources in business and management science education with practical training.
The institute also has a broad and diverse offering of a range of facilities for students’ study and self-development. GITS offers having different hostels for boys and girls. There are options of air-cooled ventilated rooms, with the extra luxurious provision of refrigerators and computers if required.
The campus has a facility that houses a health centre for first aid, a gym to keep fit and sports fields that promote games such as volleyball, basketball and cricket, among others. The college conducts state-wise events, and the GITS T20 Cricket tournament is conducted at Capt. Roop Singh Stadium.
BE programs The GITS offers six undergraduate course of study, all of which are full-time , regular courses in the Faculty of Engineering. These are BE in Civil Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering.
The total intake capacity of these programmes is 300 students The maximum intake capacity for admission into Mechanical Engineering is 120 students The other three have only a 60 intake capacity each. These diverse areas of engineering give the student the opportunity to select a speciality based on his/her preference and goal for the future.
