Hans Law College, Jaipur

Hans Law College is an affiliated institution which was started from 2011 and located at Jaipur, Rajasthan. Being located in Hans Vihar, Amai Road, Kotputli, it is a legal education centre which occupies the area of 2 acres. It was given the approval by the Bar Council of India (BCI) and the college is at present providing only one full time course, which is Bachelor of Laws (LLB).

The total student intake planned for Hans Law College is 780 but the faculty strength is only 9 members and the college wants to impart quality education to the students of law. Hans Law College has acquired different facilities aimed at making the college learning environment more interesting. An ideal library acts as information centre and holds materials of legal relevance and importance.

The college also possesses a moot court which is a very important aspect for any student of law to practice in the court. For students’ overall development, Hans Law College provides sports amenities to support work and play for the students.

A fully staffed IT department, a library of current legal materials, state-of-the-art facilities for technical support and other technical infrastructure support the entirety of the campus. Generally, an auditorium is a seminar, guest lecture or cultural event hall that contributes to the active organisational life of a university.

The college also has concern for students’ well being with a cafeteria for snacks as well as a health facility for first aid services. At the moment Hans Law College only provides one main course, the Bachelor of Laws (LLB). This is a three-year full-time degree programme and approved students’ intake is 300.

Thus, this paper posits that the degree of Bachelor of Laws programme is intended to equip students with an overall knowledge on some facets of law in order to enable them practice law effectively. As this college operates, catering for this core legal programme, the college confirms to the academy that it offers adequate programmes to meet the currents legal environment.

Since the founders’ vision of Hans Law College is to admit aspiring law students, admission process to the college is unique and easy. Unfortunately, detailed information on how to get admitted in law colleges is not available, however; as a rule, academic performance in qualifying examinations as well as performance in law tests is taken into consideration.

To achieve this goal, Hans Law College, with its approach in offering distinct specialisations in legal education, seeks to produce competent legal professional.
