Himalayan College of Education Mandi, Sunder Nagar, Himachal Pradesh was established in the year 2006 affiliated college. This co – educational institution is recognised by the National Council for Teacher Education with B. Ed qualification.

This college stands in a confined area measuring one point five three eight hectare It’s general student population is one hundred and forty eight of whom are first year students while the teaching staff consists of seven members.

Teacher education is a known strength of the institute which manifests in the institute’s focused programme and its instructional spaces specifically built to prepare students for the profession.

Himalayan College of Education also has a sports room complete with gymnasium accessories for indoor and outdoor use. Computer laboratory oriented to state of art computers with Internet connection is available for students to use modern technologies. Furthermore it has got a psychology laboratory which is fully equipped to conduct experiments coupled with the B. Ed syllabus.

Other facilities include a hall for holding of functions and seminars, a sick bay, a sports hall, a dining hall and living accommodation for the male and female students. Himalayan College of Education, Mandi, currently offers one full-time course: It includes the Bachelor of Education (B. Ed) programme We comprised education sector and Our main area of focus is the Bachelor of Education (B. Ed) programme.

This type of programme is a two years degree and currently has an approved admission capacity of one hundred students per academic year. The B. Ed course is organised to equip students with proper knowledge in teaching and education so that they may be prepared education-wise and be relevant to the job market.

Thus, although the college is dedicated to this single specialised programme, it provides a wide ranging education through the variety of its facilities and optional activities.
