Holy Family College of Education for Women, Koduvayur

Holy Family College of Education for Women Koduvayur is founded in 1995 to train female aspirants for education sector can be termed as a premier institution. This is a women’s college affiliated to the N. S. S. College of Palakkad in Kerala STATE and recognised by N. A. A. C (National Assessment and Accreditation Council).

The college functions under the guidelines laid down by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) which recognises standard education. Located in a beautiful area of 5. 72 acres the college has the current student intake of 200 and has a faculty of 17 well committed teachers.

It is noteworthy to mention various kinds of facilities that the college provides for its student support and more effective learning and development outcomes. To encompass the needs of the faculty, the campus also has a modern library with appropriate facilities needed by future teachers. Sophisticated labs exist to meet a variety of departmental and disciplinary requirements for learning through experience.

For the needy, a nice facility of girls’ hostel is available in the compound. The college also has a very good information technological base, which let students embrace technology as is adopted in learning institutions. An auditorium is used for event and seminars to promote active academic life within the college. Through sports and games, students are able to get shaped up and get a team spirit.

Regarding the infrastructure, the campus also has a health center containing gadgets and equipment for first aid services for students’ health is paramount. And also a space for car parking has also been provided for the faculty, staff, and students. Holy Family College of Education for Women, Koduvayur, at present is supporting only one full- time course which is the B. Ed programme.

This programme takes two years and has an approved capacity of 100 students indicating the college’s stand in ensuring quality education through regulation of number of student per class. The B. Ed programme has been arranged in a manner to meet the existing shortage of skilled teachers in schools and improve the general performance of the students in the future.

The process of admission at Holy Family College of Education for Women also follows merit system as being decided by the state government, UT administration, and the affiliated university. As mentioned earlier, the admissions to the above mentioned courses are based on the marks they secure in the qualifying examination and/or entrance examination.

The college may also undertake other screening techniques as may be prevailing at that time of selection. This all inclusive and holistic approach ensure that deserving candidates get the opportunity to realize their dreams of becoming educators.
