Indian Institute of Handloom Technology, Varanasi

Indian Institute of Handloom Technology Varanasi was established in 1956 by the Government of India. IIHT Varanasi is an affiliated college and is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). Previously, it was known as the Central Weaving Institute. In 1956, the institute was taken over by the All India Handloom Board.

In 1976, the institute was renamed as Indian Institute of Handloom Technology. IHT Varanasi offers undergraduate and diploma courses.
