Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences Patna was established on November 19, 1983. IGIMS Patna is an autonomous institute on the pattern of All India Institute of Medical Sciences New Delhi, under the Government of Bihar & Statutory University, which was created by an Act of the State Legislature and recognised by UGC.
