Indira Medical College and Hospital, Thiruvallur

Indira Medical College and Hospital, Thiruvallur was established in 2020 which makes it young medical College in India. It is established in Pandur, Thiruvallur District, Tamil Nadu, and offers co-education and it is an NMC approved affiliated College. The college has the approval for only course and that is the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and the college has sanctioned strength of 150.

Indira Medical College and Hospital is a young institution for the purpose of recommending itself for affiliation for the MD College recognises its obligation to provide quality medical education in a modern learning environment for the new generation of doctors.

Indira Medical College and Hospital provides a variety of infrastructural facilities that may enhance the learning activities of the students and their general personality. The schools’ classroom have provided adequate equipments that could enhance learning. This knowledge centre is a library which has more than 25000 periodicals, technical books and journals, both Indian and international.

They have comprehensive practices in the management of their resources and utilizes an integrated library system (LIBSYS). The college also has laboratories according to the departments for practical purposes sufficiently to the students. For the convenience of the students, students have a multi cuisine cafeteria which is run under the supervision of an assigned committee for hygiene factor.

The campus amenities are a health center that will enable the first aid for anyone injured or falls sick. IMCH as of now affords as a single course the MBBS degree course to its students. This is a six years full course aimed at producing fully fledged doctors to the country and the world at large.

This college has an approval to admit 150 students for this programme which only shows the ability of the college to train a large number of medical personnel annually. The process of admission of students into IMU is mainly affiliated to the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Under Graduate (NEET-UG).

This test raises the bar to qualify for an MBBS programme in the college for national level students in particular. There are general admitted time periods set by the academic regulatory bodies to which the college conforms to but these may differ from one year to another.
