Institute of Legal Studies and Research Mangalayatan University was established in the year 2010. Approved by the Bar Council of India (BCI), Institute of Legal Studies and Research MU delivers contemporary legal education through integrated, standalone, and postgraduate programmes that blend theory with practical training. ILSR Mangalayatan University offers a wide variety of courses under law domain.

These courses include a five-year integrated BA LLB course, a three-year LLB course at the undergraduate level, a one-year LLM course, and a two-year LLM course at postgraduate level and a PhD course at Doctoral level. Since the college is a constituent law college of Mangalayatan University, Aligarh, the admissions require a minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ST) in qualifying law or integrated law degrees and valid scores in the Mangalayatan University Entrance Test or CLAT , followed by a personal interview.
