Jagadguru Gangadhar College of Commerce(JGCC) was established in the year 1947 at Hubli, Karnataka. This is a self-financed college for boys and girls and is currently affiliated with Karnataka University at Dharwad and has NAAC accredited ‘A++’. Located in a sprawling 9. 25 acre campus, JGCC Hubli is an institution that imparts commerce programmes at the under graduate and post graduate level.
Total strength of students is 1,076 and the total strength of faculty members is 26 having male and female students ratio of 42:58. JGCC Hubli provides two primary degree programmes. B. Com and M. Com, that fulfill their visions and dreams in the stream of commerce education. Jagadguru Gangadhar College of Commerce has laid out many facilities which will improve the entire learning environment.
Added facilities for students include a power supplied UPS backup for the computer laboratory and fire extinguisher. The college has built a spacious central library popularly known as “Jnanamruta” and which is the nucleus for the entire campus is surrounded by lush green forty acres. The JGCC Hubli also has a 16-station gym and all necessary sporting equipment for games along with facilities for kiddie playgrounds.
The college also has its own hostel facilities for both male and female students, as well as for those students who belong to other districts. Other facilities include a cafeteria that offers healthy foods, a health care unit with an in-house doctor, and a 600-seat multipurpose hall with appropriate audio visual gadgets. JGCC Hubli's academic offerings are focused on commerce education, with two main courses.
The two programmes include a three-year full-time B. Com and a two-year full-time M. Com programme. The relative importance of courses is measured using the college’s credit basis system in order to delivery the quality end product. Jagadguru Gangadhar College of Commerce follows direct, merit admission based on the marks scored in the previous qualifying examination. As for the admission in the M.
Com programme the admission is catered as per the policy of Government of Karnataka and as per rules laid down by the Karnatak University, Dharwad. The college offers admissions for both B. Com and M. Com courses and durations for these exams are a bit vague.
