Founded in 1998, Jagannath Singh College is an affiliated college. Located in Udharbond, Cachar district of Assam, India, it is situated on a serene campus of 6 acres. This institution of higher learning has been enlightening young minds for over two decades. Currently, the college offers four undergraduate courses in arts with a total student strength of 483 and a faculty of 14 dedicated teachers.

What differs Jagannath Singh College from other colleges is its emphasis on regional languages that provides honours courses in Bengali, Hindi, and Manipuri along with the generic BA degree . Its infrastructure is also endowed with various facilities for the enrichment of the learning processes of students.

At the core of all these facilities lies the Central Library—a reservoir of knowledge that stockpiles a vast collection of books, reference books, periodicals, journals, magazines, and newspapers. It provides a lending facility to students wherein students can avail themselves of two books at one time for 10 days. This will inculcate habits of continuous learning among the students.

There is also a well-furnished reading room in the library where students can study with concentration. The library building is under construction and well-equipped and shall further add to the academic value of the institution. Other than academics, Jagannath Singh College believes in all-round development. The institution provides sports facilities to develop physical fitness and team spirit.

To gain hands-on learning experience, the college has department-based laboratories where students are free to apply their theoretically learnt concepts. The institution has excellent IT infrastructure to cope with the digital world so that the students can be able to face all challenges of modern technology. Jagannath Singh College offers four undergraduate courses on a full-time basis.

All these courses are targeted towards students seeking higher-level education in the field of arts, with a special inclination towards regional languages. The various academic courses that the college extends to its students include one general BA course and three honours courses in Bengali, Hindi, and Manipuri.
